For clinics

Schedule access, not the chart

This is what a clinic grants when we ask for Accuro, Healthquest, or Med Access access. Version 2026-10-16. Scope: schedule only.

Who holds the record

The clinic remains the custodian of the patient chart. Accuro, Healthquest, and Med Access host that chart for the clinic. This phone desk does not open it, does not store a health card number, and does not take the clinic’s EMR password.

Accuro patient records are stored in Canada by QHR; QHR may process some information outside Canada for support. Healthquest hosts in several countries including Canada. TELUS Health is a processor for the clinic. This desk does not claim every vendor processes only in Canada.

What the desk keeps

  • First and last name
  • Phone, and email if the caller gives one
  • New or existing patient
  • Walk-in yes or no
  • Preferred time
  • Reason in the caller’s own words

What stays off

  • The chart
  • Personal health number / health card
  • Diagnoses, medications, allergies, labs, imaging, immunizations
  • Clinical notes, documents, and medical summary
  • The clinic’s EMR username or password

Accuro · QHR Technologies

I am authorized to bind this clinic. I grant this phone front desk schedule-only access for Accuro (QHR Technologies). The clinic remains the custodian of the patient chart. Until the EMR vendor approves a schedule connection, staff enter every visit by hand. The caller is told they are booked only after staff confirm. Access or correction of a medical file stays with the clinic. Version 2026-10-16.

From their privacy policies

  • QHR: the healthcare provider is custodian of personal health information. Third-party schedule tools use QHR’s API only after QHR’s vendor agreement and the clinic’s grant.
  • Microquest: a third-party add-on receives Content only when the clinic administrator grants it. Microquest does not control that add-on’s privacy policy.
  • TELUS: the healthcare provider remains custodian of the health record. TELUS processes on the clinic’s instructions. A Med Access or CHR API is not self-serve.
  • Alberta: an information manager agreement and privacy impact assessment stay on the clinic file before health-information mode can turn on. This grant is schedule-only and does not turn that mode on.

A clinic owner grants this in settings. That grant does not connect the EMR. QHR, Microquest, or TELUS still have to approve a schedule API. Until then staff enter every visit by hand. Alberta information-manager and privacy-assessment steps stay on the clinic file before any health-information mode can turn on.
